The Kona Women’s Workshop offers “An Evening of Intuition” on Thursday, September 16, 2010 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. This workshop is $10, and limited to 12 participants to allow each to receive an intuitive mini-reading using “direct source and the tarot.” Presented by Reverend Libby Tao Kelson-Fulcher (see weddingsalaheart.com).
It’s at Hale Halawai in Kailua-Kona, in the back classroom. To register, email Tina Kitchens @ tkit@hawaii.rr.com.
About the workshop:
Wherever people gather together with sincere interest and desire and an openness to know more who they are and who they are not, something is bound to happen. What is created during our evening comes out of our joint energies. We are always drawing to us, asking for what we want and need and expressing our deep intentions for the life we truly wish to live.
This evening will be a response to those requests, even when asked silently or perhaps even unknowingly. A fun yet meaningful event is expected as we discover our “not-me’s” and as a result see who and what we truly are. Mini-readings are offered using Direct Source energy and the masterful Thoth Tarot Cards. In the moment of connection we are “in” and there comes the ahhhh…. the relaxation, the let-go, the burst into bliss and joy. We are all connectors for each other when we share our true hearts and souls.
- Libby Tao Kelson-Fulcher, D.D. Communicator, Teacher, Intuitive, Energy Healer, Musician, Minister and Friend. Formerly radio show host of Psychic Airwaves, a live call-in radio show in Kealakekua and Honolulu. In 1991 Created Weddings A La Heart and later Hawaii Weddings International officiating, planning and coordinating heartfelt, intimate events. Practitioner of the Quick Pulse Technique created by Jo Dunning, creator and Practitioner of Ptolemics Navel Energy Technique and Intuitive Guide and Spiritual Counselor in practice with An Act Of Love. Also happy volunteer French Hornist with the Chamber Orchestra of Kona and the West Hawaii County Band.

This is by far one of my family’s favorite events. A full afternoon of beautiful slack key music – and it’s all free. Held at the Sheraton Keauhou Bay from noon-5 pm, the event draws Hawaii’s best slack key musicians. Previous year’s performers have included Don Kaulia, Ledward Kaapana, Keoki Kahumoku, Brittni Paiva, and oh, so many more. You should come. But if you do, take an umbrella for shade – it gets HOT. No outside food or coolers are allowed.

September 4, 5 & 6, 2010 – Labor Day weekend – paddlers from all over the world gather for the Queen Lili‘uokalani Canoe Races in West Hawaii. You can catch much of the starting action at Kailua Pier, where there will also be a craft fair and product booths. Here’s the schedule:
Saturday: Wa’a Kaukahi (single hull canoes)
The women start this event paddling 18 miles from Kailua Bay to Honaunau. The men then bring it back 18 miles to Kailua Bay. The Ironman divisions do so with no changes! Same team takes it all the way!
Sunday: Wa’a Kaulua (double hull canoes)
On Sunday, the men and the women tie together two single hull canoes to make the double hulls, and the women and the mixed double hulls start, taking the Wa’a (canoes) 3 miles South to Lyman’s, turn there and return to Kailua Bay for a total of six miles.
OC1 (one person} & OC2 Races (two person) -
The OC1 and OC2 canoe races are a recent addition to the more traditional racing events. The men and women paddling in this one follow the same course as the double-hull canoes.
Stand-up Paddleboards – Course goes south to Casa de Emdeko, turn there and return to Kailua Bay for a total of 3 miles. Boards are available for rent at Kona Boys at Kamakahonu Bay 808-322-4166 or 808-329-2345.
We are again this year adding three Keiki divisions (OC-6 – 6 person crews): 15, 16 and 18 and under. The young people paddling this race follow the same course as the double hull canoes.
Monday: Ali‘i Challenge (single hull canoes – 12 person crew)
The inaugural year for a race heading north of Kona to finish at Kona Village. A newly formatted race, from start to finish. Take on the Challenge!
Click through for complete schedule with starting times.
