How To Make a Smokin’ Mai Tai
The Mai Tai Bar at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel now serves the “World’s Best Mai Tai” – a smoky and enticing brew topped with a bruleed pineapple, also known as the “Smokin’ Mai Tai” – a cocktail that placed first in the 1st annual World’s Best Mai Tai Contest at Don the Beachcomber last year.

With the recipe below, you can recreate all the tropical goodness of the Pink Palace of the Pacific in the comfort of your own home. Want to add paper parasols? Recipe for The Smokin’ Mai Tai
1- Whole Lime Hand Pressed
1 ½ oz. Hand- Crafted Falernum
1 oz. Bacardi Superior
½ oz. Bols Orange Curacao
1 oz. Bacardi Select (Float)
Fill the mixing glass to the top with ice; Hand press one lime into glass; measure 1 ½ oz. of Falernum into glass; Measure 1oz. of Bacardi Superior into glass; Measure ½ oz of Orange Curacao into glass; Smoke; Shake; Pour; Measure out 1 oz. of Bacardi Select; Place the brown sugar coated pineapples on each glass; Brulee pineapples; Garnish with lime, parasol cherry, mint, straw.
