Free ‘Gardening With Kids’ Workshop – January 30

This Saturday, January 30, 2010, Donna Mitts is offering a√Ǭ†free√Ǭ†workshop called “Gardening (with kids) Basics.” It’s from 1-4 p.m. at the Pa√¢‚ǨÀúauilo School garden and is open to other school garden teachers and the general public. Children are encouraged to attend with an adult.√Ǭ†

She will cover composting, worm composting, garden bed preparation, tool organization, curriculum linking, gardening with kids and more. Bring drinking water and wear gardening clothes.  Tools and gloves are available for use.

  • Wonderful to involve kids in gardening. It’s something they will carry with them all their lives. My mother always “put in” a garden and assigned us kids various jobs. Now, as an older adult, I find myself gardening with that image of her garden in my head, guiding me.
