Kohala Country Fair – October 3

The 25th annual Kohala Country Fair features fun for the whole family! Better? It’s free.√Ǭ† You’ll enjoy taiko drummers, Tahitian dancers, musical entertainment, booths featuring handmade items, baked goods, and something called “hair tinsel.” Of course, the hair tinsel is not free. And the vendors would probably like you to pay for their items. But the drumming and dancing? The music? The people watching? All free.

The Kohala Country Fair continues it’s goal of sustainability, giving back to the land, and growing our own food. Last year√¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s fair achieved 70% waste reduction, thanks to the fairgoers and the Zero Waste philosophy. How cool is that?

Want to attend? It’s October 3, 2009 from 9-4:30, under the banyan tree in Hawi (corner of Akoni Pule Highway and Hawi Road).
