Hawaii County Band at Mo‘oheau
I went on the Mynah Bird radio program this morning to talk about our big launch. It was a lot of fun (even though I had laryngitis; tricky!) and I guess people were listening because we’ve gotten some feedback.
Such as this nice email (printed here with permission). I don’t know why we don’t go listen to the County Band play, and I’m going to make a point of it.
I heard you on Mynah Bird this morning and wanted to let you know about MY favorite free thing in Hilo — the monthly concert by the Hawaii County Band. The next concert is this Saturday at the Mo‘oheau Bandstand at 12 noon. The show is one hour long and I don’t know how they come up with such great music every month.
I feel bad for the band because they work so hard to put on wonderful music and every month you see the same faces in the audience — I just wish more people would come and enjoy (and support) the County Band.
The concert is at noon and usually on the 2nd Saturday of the month, but is does vary. Here is this year’s schedule:
March 14th, April 11th, May 2nd, June 6th, July 4th (at 7 PM – just before the fireworks), August 8th, September 12th, October 3rd, November 7th and December 5th.
Come and enjoy the County Band!!!
Thanks, Terry Mallen
Thank YOU, Terry Mallen, for writing and also for reminding us what we have in our midst. A county band — how cool is that?! Let’s all go out and support it.
