From Friday, Jan. 16 to Sunday, Jan. 18, the Outrigger Keauhou Beach Resort plays host to the Ipu Cultural Festival. Presented by the Hawaii Gourd Society, free admission allows attendees to explore a wide variety of traditional and contemporary arts and crafts. Those interested in a more in-depth experience can opt to participate in workshops with varying costs, and learn to make nets known as kōkō, drums, or rattles (‘ulī ‘ulī) for hula. The festival is open 9 to 5 daily.
